Terrence Packer "Pack-Man" or "Master Voo"

Southern Maryland

I was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. I graduated from Ferndale High School in 1994. Shortly after high school, my high school sweetheart had our first son. After being laid off at a welding job I enlisted in the United States Air Force. I served two and a half years as a Munitions Systems Apprentice (AMMO Troop). My first duty station was Kunsan in Korea. After PCSing to Spangdahlem Germany, I met my wife. We were married for 14 years and had three children, two boys, and one girl. After the military, I started working for the federal government as a civilian with the different departments within the Department of Defense. My family and I stayed overseas for 14 years before moving back to the United States in Maryland. In 2013 I went through a tough divorce and custody case with my ex-wife which I ended up losing physical custody of our four children. My ex-wife moved to CO.

What made you start doing your brand/mission?

My mission has always been trying to help kids coming out of high school without a plan.

What is your brand/mission all about?

My mission is to help teenagers start a career path who are not ready for college yet.

How are you perfectly fit for your brand/mission?

I was one of those teenagers. I was tired of school and did not want to attend college. After high school, I had a few jobs but no career path. So when I was laid off the best thing for me was to go into the military. But that doesn't have to always be the answer to every teenager. Some just need guidance on how to start a career or look for jobs that will set them up for a career. I believe with my knowledge of the workforce and experience I can help teenagers who are just like me coming out of high school.

How does your brand service others?

It provides teens the opportunity to be successful and gain knowledge and experience.

What makes your brand/mission different from others who provide the same service?

My story. I've done everything right and still ended up in prison and I still keep striving to help and build a better future for those who come behind me.

What makes you, you? Why are you unique?

I have a mixture of determination not to give up and a strong work ethic.

If you were given a stage with a million people, what would you do? Talk, sing, read, dance? Talk to us there and let us know what it would look like.

I would speak on my experience as a young kid, young adult, father, inmate, and career path.

What is the world missing that you think you can give?

That helping hand. We are always told what we should do but never shown how to do it or achieve it.

Tell us about a time when you were broken. How did you overcome it?

I was convicted of assault and sentenced to 30 years in prison. I was unsure how I was going to do that time but I sat down and created goals for myself right before I started my sentence. those are what helped me to keep my head high and to always try to be the best man I could even in a harsh environment like prison.

What does confidence mean to you? When did you realize that you were truly walking into it?

It means having the strength to know your abilities and know you can achieve anything you put your mind to. I knew at a very young age I was confident. It was instilled in me by my parents.

We all should be the examples that we didn't have growing up, how do you live up to this?

I try my best to be the man my father was to me and to add my swag to it and do the things for my children and youth I wanted my father and mentors to do for me.

Name three things you can’t live without?

Pancakes, family, and good friends.

What is prison like?

Prison is like nothing you will ever want to experience. It is not as seen on TV. It is dirty, it is mentally tough, it's not made to help you change or rehabilitate yourself. It is all punishment and slave labor. However, there are good things that can be found in prison. You can find your purpose, you can find you, you can strengthen relationships if you put in the work to do so.

What did you think of your Live interview with LaTonya MeChelle?

I loved it. I haven't smiled so much in years.

What are your social handles?
